I’m glad to share with you my first pictures of the Pamir Mountains.

Most of them accrued during a kind of business trip to the neighboring village of Roshtqala. You can sleep there in homestays, having your own room but share everything else with the host family if you like (tea, food, outside shower, etc.).

A lot of things are very basic there. Most villages get fresh water from rivers and fonts directly from the mountain glaciers. But they might lack of a pumping system. So you just hang up a bucket with a tap on it to wash hands….!
This above seen village is dependent on this one ‘Indiana Jones’- bridge. A very bouncy but stabile construction it seemed to me. Though water level will rise during summer, so watch your step when you carry heavy luggage…
I really like this bridge…
The deeper you get into the valley, the more remote it becomes. People make a living mostly of cattle livestock and money they got sent from young man working in Russia and other former soviet states. Hiking tourism is at its infancy and therefore still a real insider.
Village communities often have just very few vehicles. That is why they maintain cars from soviet time.
Beside the great mountain views, clean rivers, remote and unique landscape, hospitality is the big treasure of the Tajik people! Visitors are always welcome to a warm place and a hot tea! It’s not just nice and cosy inside, peolpe are welcoming…
… you also might run into a local dancing and local party session…
I hope you enjoyed the impressions! Tajikistan is a magical place! Please feel free to comment or ask me for more detailed information!
Schöne Worte und Bilder Nico!Vielleicht bald auch mal eins auf dem du zu sehen bist ;)!Weiterhin eine tolle Zeit dort und immer her mit neuen Updates!
